God Helps Me Bible
Juliet David
Illustrated by Clare Caddy
The retelling of some of the most loved Bible stories
with emphasis on the way God has helped those in the story. We read how God
helped Noah in the Ark, Moses from the river, and Esther to save her people.
Basic outline of the story with specific ending of how God saw that person
through and was a help to them.
Great for toddlers and preschoolers to apply the Bible
studies to what they are working on in their own life. Gives them reflection
time to see how God has helped those in the Bible, and how He can help them as
well.
Nice thick pages in a spiral bound book makes this a
great carry along Bible for the young ones as they see Mom and Dad carrying
their Bibles to church. Not heavy and bulky, just the right size to engage the
youngster in.
My qualm with this Bible is that there is not the story
of the death and resurrection. I know that can be hard for children and you
have to word it in an easy to understand way, but without that what is the
Christian faith? Missing that major component in this Bible jumps me down to a
3 star. I think every children’s Bible needs to have the core of the Christian
beliefs in it as they need to learn right away what their faith is based on.
I received a copy of this book from Kregel in exchange
for an honest review.

I appreciate the honesty in your review! I think that it sounds like a great bible overall, but it is missing the crucial gospel message. I know it might seem difficult to adapt the crucifixion for a toddler appropriate version of the Bible, but I have some books (specifically Easter books) that do it, so it's not impossible!
