When I first found Madecasse online I was just in awe of their fair trade practices and going beyond what they could to ensure building up the Cocoa industry in Madagascar. Experiencing Madagascar first hand int he Peace Corp they learned to live and be friends among the people there. Wanting to go above and beyond most companies they integrated the community into much more than just growing the beans as the illustration below shows.
70% of the worlds cocoa comes from Africa and less 1% of the chocolate is made there!! That amazes me! Madecasse is working to change that for Madagascar where their chocolate bars are made. One of the only fine chocolates made in Africa!

Thanks for the review, Melanie, and everyone for your comments! I'd have to say that the Pink Pepper + Citrus is my personal favorite, along with the Arabica Coffee bar. The Pink Pepper + Citrus tastes like we hid a key lime pie in the mix... we didn't, I promise. :) The milk chocolate also gets a lot of great feedback for being unique.
