AeroPress Review and Giveaway

AeroPress by Aerobie
Coffee and Espresso Maker

Espresso shots in just minutes! Now you can be your own bistro right in your own kitchen!
Taking hot water, and coffee grounds and using the AeroPress you can make a cup of coffee in much less time than brewing takes, and you are going to get a richer coffee because of the longer interaction with the water and coffee grounds and the pressure of water through those coffee grounds.
The aeropress makes an espresso shot basically and then you either add additional hot water for an American cup of coffee, or hot milk for a latte. All of those fancy drinks you pay big bucks for you can now make whenever you want at a huge reduction in cost!
The AeroPress was very easy to use. My 10 year old got up and without even reading the directions was able to figure out how it all went together and worked. Not a complex espresso machine with lots of buttons and gadgets. I am all about keeping it simple.
I thought this AeroPress was genius for those times I have gone camping and had to have instant (yuck) coffee because we didn't have a coffee maker. Never again!! Take it backpacking, canoeing, camping, travelling and you can easily make coffee.
Another huge plus is that it is made in the USA!!
It does take some getting used to. You do have to apply gentle pressure to the plunger and when your eyes are barely open it can be a titch tempting to plunge that baby right through!
It does not come with a mug, which can be a plus or minus. Depending on how attached you are to your coffee mug. I think a lightweight plastic mug would have been great if it came with it to just sit right in the box. Making it easier when I want to grab it to go on a trip.

I love coffee from a press. I'm from Louisiana and have been drinking coffee since I was a kid. My grandmother used a coffee press--different design, but essentially the same idea. I'd love to bring that back to my own home!

I use a French press at home, so this is kind of similar. It would be better for on the go than my press though.
